Does anybody use business cards? has anybody got any business through this method?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I use buisness cards and have put them on notice boards etc. I also give them to other childminders because if they get an enquiry and dont have space they then give my name and number out! I paid £2 for 20 at one of those machines you find in shopping malls and it looks very professional!

I've got some which I just give to people I meet when I'm out and about, but only if I've been specifically asked for my phone number. I printed my own using a proper PC program and a knowledgeable dh. I have got business through them, but only because I was asked for info in the first place. I've never put them on noticeboards or given them out unasked.

I've got some and I also do these for the people whose websites I do but tbh, I tend to give them out more for easy reference of contact details when I already had contact from a parent - so far anyway! My local shop has agreed to have a business card holder filled with them at a small fee so that if people see the poster, they can just grab a card!

So far my own have been on my own templates and printed on business card paper on my printer however I recently did a customers cards via vistaprint and she was very happy with the quality (didn't see them myself as she lives elsewhere in the country and I got them sent to her!)

Hi
I got some from vistaprint.com, paid for postage of £6ish and they were free apart from that for 250.
Recommend them...tho you do get bombarded with e-mails of future offers

got mine from vista print. you can also purchase an electronic one to match and place it on emails etc.

HellyBelly · 11/02/2006 18:24

I think it's a great deal. I design my own business cards and upload the logo's etc. and I've phoned them to tweek the layout and they do this over the phone in seconds - great! The premium business card deal (designing your own) is around £11 and then postage HOWEVER, they have a deal on for the rest of this month where they are only a couple of quid + postage. Going to get my own done via them as I'm sure it's cheaper than my printing costs

oldandfat - from vistaprint? how much, not seen this!

ayla99 · 11/02/2006 21:04

I use Vistaprint . If you don't mind using a different design each time from their "free range" its good value, I think. If you want to stick with the same design, it will eventually end up in the premium section which costs about £12 for 250 cards.

The cheapest postage option is £3.08 plus VAT.

oldandfat · 11/02/2006 21:09

Once youve placed your order they offer you other items in your same design the electronic b.card was one of them. didnt cost much. couple of £ I think.

cheers, not come across that one yet but will watch out
