as part of my study. I am studying for the level 2 CYPW. A lot of the parents are not very responsive when it comes to these forms. It needs to be perfect as my supervisor is very critical and I need to hand them out asap and no time to redo it. Its all very last minute cock up with my tutor!! I am not sure if I should put a small pic of myself and properly introduce myself or keep it more formal i.e Dear parent/carer etc does anyone have a good format I could use??

hi, i am currently doing a degree in childhood and youth studies and part of it is reasearch with children. Ethically you need to introduce yourself, explain what you are doing and why you are doing, explain they have the right to withdraw at any time and explain about anonomity and confidentiality (i think that's it off the top of my head)

Ah thank you county I written this so far...just struggling with the rest

Dear Parent/ Carer,
My name is and I am currently studying for a level 2 Diploma in Young Children and Young people?s workforce. I have been working at the pre-school since October 2011 and have really enjoyed my work experience here. As part of my study I have been asked to carry out a 5-10 minute written observation on a small group of children. This information will be used purely for educational purposes and may be used to record your child?s achievements, learning and development and to plan his/hers next steps.

What about saying that "no other person outside the educational establishment will have access to the information collected from the observation.

after ...small group of children.. "the observation will take place on (date/week commencing) when the children are in normally in preschool and will not interfere with their routine.

end it with "i should be grateful if you would sign the slip below and return it to me/the preschool as soon as possible. I must point out that it is your right to change your mind at anytime prior, during or after the observation and this can be done by contacting me/the school directly.
