Nannies,

What was the strangest interview question you have been asked? Or which question would you not answer if asked?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

as a night nanny I used to leave my children at home with my husband while I worked. It meant that I got to be with my children during their waking hours (perfect!)

At one interveiw for a night position (new baby) that had gone really well, the dad walked in right at the end and asked me:

"How do you go to work and leave your children without you, do you not think you should put your own children first?"

Needless to say I didn't take on that job. What made it worse was they had a full time nanny as his wife worked full time!

I can't believe it Paula. They employed a full-time nanny and a night nanny and then asked you this question?

I was asked 'what's your religion?' and 'do you have a boyfriend?' both of which I thought were a bit off tbh

i can't remember what I said I was so angry.

I rang the agency as soon as I walked out of the house and told her what had happened. She wouldn't send anyone else for the interview after that
