Hi & welcome to mumsnet. Have you tried advertising on the Nanny Shares section (this is where most of our adverts go).

I put together a big list of online advertising places a little while back - I'll bump it so it appears at the top of the list for you. Some of them only allow links to websites if you have one but most should be useful for you.

By the way, if you want to ask any questions at any time directly to the other childminders on here, start the thread with Childminders Club: and then we'll try and help.

Right, I'll go and find that list so watch out for it!

Hiya

The list is for lots of different directories, chatrooms etc. that you can advertise on for free. I have had enquiries via several of these. I have my own website which I must admit has helped but you don't need one for this advertising to work, just depends if you have lots of people in your area advertising like this too (i.e. if you have a huge amount of childminders in your area then you are more likely to stick out if you have a website, otherwise, shouldn't matter)

I did bump the thread straight after posting my last message but I'll I do it again, actually, I'll start a new one. It also helps with other advertising ideas (i.e. newsagents etc etc).

We have active conversations going on here all the time so the longer you leave looking for this thread (message) the lower down the list it will be.

Good luck

Have you tried Care-4 through the NCMA

You need to phone them first to register - then you can do it on-line

It seem OK

hi nikki
IMHO I would contact MNtowers and ask them to delete your full name and phone numbers

this is a world wide site and you never know who is looking

welcome btw

Nikki83 - check regularly that you are still on your CIS database and their active vacancy list - I had asked my CIS to make an amendment on the Childcarelink website to my profile and details only to be told that I had been taken off the CIS database and the vacancy list - so worthwhile sending them an email every 4 - 6 weeks to be on the safe side!

HellyBelly · 12/02/2006 17:27

Good point Tan, also, if you check online (if you are shown online) and can see you're not near the top of the list, just make odd amendments so you appear at the top again (I often email my local CIS to change stuff so I'm at the top )

Nikki83 - have you tried leaving one of your ads in local Police / Fire stations / hospitals etc - just a thought

nikki83 · 12/02/2006 22:38

i havnt no, do u think they will let me put 1 up?
guess its worth an ask.
do people actually look at posters when they r in those sort of places?

nikki83 I used to work in a big hospital as a nurse and sometimes when walking past notice boards I used to stop and have a look. Most people do if its in a good location. Find the notice boards near jobs then people will.
