I have posted on this topic before so apologies if going over old ground. We are moving to Chelmsford (house in London on Market). My eldest is due to start St Cedds in September. The younger hopefully at a nursery close by. Both my husband and I work in London and ideally I would need someone to drop off at 7:30 and possibly pick up my dcs. Does anyone know if such a service exits. If so, what would be the cost? Alternatively, am I better off going for an au pair and does anyone know the cost. Thank you for reading this post.

How about using a childminder. No need to use the nursery. Childminder could take/collect from school plus care for younger child. Essex county council would be your first point of call for information about childminders: 0800 055 6874 [email protected]

Thank you so much for your response but because of our irregular hours I think I would rather a nursery. Do you know of any good nurseries? Does anyone else have the same problem?

A childminder is more likely to accommodate irregular hours than a nursery IME.

My children are at st Anne's, just down the road from st cedds. There is a lovely childminder who drops off and picks up one of the children there. She would probably go to st cedds too if you wanted me to ask her. I would think that a childminder would be more accommodating. I can't think of any nurseries in Chelms that would do irregular hours. St cedds has after school clubs, I don't know if they do breakfast club though. Maybe that would help a little though.

I might be able to help you, I live in Chelmsford and have been taking children to and from St Cedds for the best part of 8 years. This is my first message on here and I don't know how to send you a private message.

Seymour House Day Nursery was absoloutly fantastic when my DD attended 10 years ago.

There is one on main Broomfield Road, one at the other end of the town and one behing Broomfield Hospital and they were all brilliant.

What ever you do don't have anything to do with Buzz Kidz club in Beehive Lane. I reported them to Ofstead.

I can't spell - I am taking new pain killers and my head feels all wooly Blush

Bohica, I used to work at Seymour House the one behind the hospital, I left nearly 11 years ago, so I might know you and your child/ren !! (Was glad to see the back of the green tartan kilts.)

I worked at Broomfield hospital. I got a call once to say my DD had trapped her finger in a window and needed checking so i went over in an ambulance and the children took turns sitting in the ambo with hard hats on! I still have the photos!
