Childminders Club; ever had a mindee comment on the size of your house?

I had this recently. A 7 yr old I look after commented on the fact we have our dining table in the living room {as kitchen is too small}.He said why does your ds have to eat in the lounge, don't you have a dining room? Also he said why don't you have a separate bedroom for ds's? Amazing a young boy noticed and commented on this, children can be very materialistic.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This is unlikely to be materialism per se, but rather just a child observing something different to what he/she perceives to be the norm.

I think it is vequally likely that your child might comment on someone else's house being odd because it has a separate romm for eating in!

Children are very adept at assuming what they have is the norm and anything else is, well different

I think it is just a child noticing that their house is different from someone elses - not judgement just observation.

My DS - at 4 is fascinated by a friends house that has 3 floors.
