Which iPhone apps do you use for EYFS records?

I recently downloaded the iPhone app Foundation Stage Record by Apps4schools as recommended by tanith and I am very pleased with it - except the photo relating to the activity has to be taken using the app.

I quite often just take a quick snap of the children and them go back to it to fill in details of what they were doing. I can't sit adding information on the phone and watch two under twos at the same time.

Does anyone know of a similar app for the iPhone that I can add the photos retrospectively? Or an app that does the same job but differently (if you see what I mean!)

I asked them to add this facility and they wrote back to say they thought it was a good idea.
They're also considering a childminder-specific app as well so, if you're interested, email to let them know it's worth their while Smile

Thanks for that Tanith, you've been a great help so far!

I'll email them as suggested

Hi I use Daily Connect. Its great as i can add on photos etc and my employers can easily access it from their computer at work.

Tanith · 24/03/2012 21:21

I use that one, too, for a daily diary. Agree that it's brilliant!

I looked at daily connect but found it far more in depth than I needed. I just use notemaster, I have a template note that I add pics and daily diary and I link to eyfs.

southeastastra · 24/03/2012 22:18

so do you take photos of the kids and keep them on your phone?

Tanith · 24/03/2012 22:19

I like being able to select the colour and consistency of soiled nappies Grin

Tanith · 24/03/2012 22:20

Southeastastra: No - I send a report to the parents and one to me, then remove them from the phone each night.

BornToShopForcedToWork · 25/03/2012 00:31

Daily Connect doesn't save the pictures on your phone but yes I do have pictures of my charges on my phone. I am a nanny so I don't know if that makes a difference. My employers are happy with it and are looking forward to pictures of things i do with their son every day which i send them to their work email.

Nobleminder let's you write obs, daily dairy and all sorts on pohone/ipad/pc and upload photos. I have just finished a thirty day trail and am very impressed as are parents.

SEE -photos taken during the day are either printed and put in children's folder or messaged to parents with a note of what we did. Then deleted daily.

I take lots of pics, use a few in my daily diaries/obs via notemaster and the rest I upload to a passworded Dropbox account for parents to view at will. I trialled noble minder but found a few limitations with it, so I use a couple of free apps that do what I need instead.

I really like the look for the EYFS app and started to use it today.

The one thing I don't like is the report is sent from the app's email address rather than your email address. I tried changing it in settings, but can't. Not sure of the confidentiality issues here.
