I have been invited to an interview on a day when I had agreed to be on holiday working as a nanny.
I really hate to be a pain to them as they are a great family to nanny for, I really love my job and in all circumstances I try to be as little inconvenience to them as possible, what do you think?

Would the university interview you on a different day? Sometimes interviews run over a period of days or weeks.

Are you going away with them for the holiday? Or is it just a day trip?

Can you phone the uni, explain you are working, and ask if another day is convenient?

it is a weeks holiday, (but only 150 miles from home) it falls on a day 2 days before the end of what I had agreed to do.
So awkward, I feel terrible for putting pressure on them but this is the last round of interviews for this particular degree course, as there was some discrepancy about my qualifications which slowed up the proses (I actually sent my UCAS form off in November 2011) but that's been sorted now, hence the invitation for an interview.
I am fretting that there'll be a bad atmosphere at work about something that is beyond my control.

Try explaining the circs and asking for a different interview day. It may not work but definitely try it.

I have just emailed the uni to see if they can change the date Ill be interviewed on, feel bad though because I have already emailed my employer to say that I have been invited for interview during the holiday she hasn't yet replied arrgh I hate this stress Sad

blapbird If you know or can find out the name of the course leader, I would try and ring to speak to them directly. They may still say no but I think that is more likely to work than sending an email, which will probably go to a standard recruitment team email address and so may well get a standard response
