Nanny Diary

Hi,

I am planning to write a "diary" with all the activities I do with my little one during the week, for the parents to have a look at and maybe even for the child to have when he is older. (My nanny did this for me when I was little).

Do you have any ideas what exactly to write in it? My nanny just used a blank page every day and wrote a bit, but I want to do it a bit more in order. Any suggestions?

Activities/food. Funny/clever things said or done. Pictures.

Get a note book with a place for date at the top and write all the things that your charge will find interesting and amusing in time to come, they love to hear about the funny things and any little successes maybe even adding the odd photo.

I remember one of my long term children telling me that she loved me to tell her about the things she did as a baby/child because I was the one with her most and really knew; I felt a little sad for her career minded mother at the time because she missed so much of her childrens childhoodSad

Sunshine nanny that's a great idea to look back on. I am going to suggest this to my nanny. Love your username.

i write a nanny diary. my bosses don't see much of their children during the week and love to read the diary. i took over the previous nanny mid year and she had a fairly small one and i used to write a lot more detail and this year they bought a massive one lol
i write what they ate at the top. if they have had medicine/how much and what time-also means i have written evidence and what they have done that day, funny or interesting stories etc. one of my charges is a baby and so even though they have missed his first step and words etc, they have it written down when he did it. i write it a bit like a story, rather than just pin point facts. for e.g. my baby had explosive diahrea (sp) and we both ended up covered in poo and he screamed the place down when i had to bath him. i didn't just say at 5pm baby had diahrea, they got the whole story, including if the neighbours dont ask you if your baby is ok after sounding like he was being tortured today, i would judge them lol.
