New Childminder - Small question

Hi All,

After some time, I have finally managed to find a child to mind, I am starting from tomorrow.... but now I am completely lost, what sort of documentation do I need to start from the day one.

Do I need to write a description of a child with photo in a diary? or just take a photo and that is it? And later just include what we do?

I am assuming that first the child needs to get used to me before I will start observations or do I do them as well from the day one?

Sorry for such a silly question (probably) but now I ma so lost that I do not actually know what is what.

Many thanks

Don't panic, ask parents to do a 'mummy Manuel '
just a few details on child's routine, sleeps, likes, feeding routine etc. this gives u the basics to then build on and eventually add your own obs and planning. You right it takes time to know a child.

Most important remember u not working to please ofsted but keep child safe and happy and parents happy
And hopefully make a good and lucrative business doing so. Good luck

Assume of course u have all other documents ready? Attendance records, policies and proceedures?
