Sitting here trying to think of things to do as i STILL havent got my certificate
Just wondering how and where you get the information about vouchers? I have had a quick look online and see there are many different places to get them from so this has confused me more. Do I need to register somewhere? Or is it a matter of waiting to see where parents get their vouchers from?
Arrrggghhhhh help please....confused in Watford

I'm registered for Busy Bees vouchers purely because a parent who visited me asked if I'd accept these. It was easy! As for others, I just say I am willing to register for any that I am able to and what parents want to use.

There are lots of companies now that deal with childcare vouchers. Usually the parent collects the information from their employer & gives you the relevant info to sign up.

If you are an ncma member you can sign up at www.childcareplaces.com if you want to. they'll put you on a list to give your info to parents looking for childcarers who accept those vouchers.

If this list exists of childminders who will accept vouchers, does this mean that some childminders actually won't accept them? It never occurred to me that this is something minders wouldn't have!

lexiemum · 20/01/2006 06:00

I've come across a few that say they won't except vouchers - cash only at the beginning of the week. One even thought i was going to be conning them out of money!

helly - will be using busy bee for first time - has it all been plain sailing for you when cashing your vocher etc. would like to be honest with my cm if there's any probs with them.

I was reading this, and it suddenly occured to me that as a childminder in Scotland the rules might be different. I certainly haven't had any parent asking if i would take vouchers, and if they did i probably wouldn't know what to do with them!

I have been paid with busy bees vouchers for past 2 years and had no problems at all. You have to ring them up and 3-4 days later the money is in my account. Have not used the online facility as my families pay me with the paper vouchers so no idea how that works.

I filled in the details to accept vouchers from another company and one of the tick boxes was for the care comission scotland so i am guessing the vouchers are valid there.

I am a registered childminder and have recently signed up for the Care4 vouchers however nobody as yet have contacted me, to enable me to use these vouchers but I would certainly register for any voucher scheme to help the parents.
