Hi,

I am just about to start a new live-in position. I really have a lot of stuff, do you think it is acceptable to take it all with me?

yes if dont have parents to dump it all on

I would have thought that as long as it all fits into your room and doesn't spill over into the rest of their house then it shouldn't be a problem.

In my past jobs I have only brought my belongings no furniture.

In my current position (been here 2 years) I have all I need however I have recently been out and bought some new furniture as I spotted a couple of bargains - don't think my boss would mind if I had turned up with own belongings as she had, had to buy me a bed plus drawers when I first moved in.

Hi,

Yes, my stuff should fit in my room and I don't have any furniture. Thanks for your replies.

i usually only have a summer job so take one bug backpack of 75 liters and a small cabin sized backpack. when i planned to stay a whole year i have this and a huge suitcase too.
i found some people like to comment on size of your luggage, regardless of what you actually have and what you need. especiallyif you re going to a new job and dont know what sort of clothing you will be using etc.

I use to turn up with all my stuff-im moving in, obviously i need my things with me just like anyone else moving to a new home. however, after having a job where i 'only' had 2 huge cases and a rucksack as they moved here and we were in temp accom til their home was ready and i got chucked out at 6.30am i now turn up with just a case and rucksack and once i have settled in move the rest of my stuff in.
