I am looking to get a live-in nanny to help with my two young children. I have a 4 year old who is at school full time (8.30 - 4) and a nearly 2 year old who currently goes to a lovely CM 3 days a week. I figured that a live-in nanny would probably be the best solution for childcare as I am looking to start working again and I need to make sure I have wrap-around care in place. The research I have done indicates that the cost will be about the same as a full time CM and an au-pair, but gives extra flexibility.
So...where do I start? I am clueless! The nanny would have her own really nice room and bathroom in a nice house in a small village. The girls are gorgeous (naturally
) and I am pretty ok and easy going.
Is it best to go through an agency or advertise directly?
If the latter, where best to advertise?
What are the key things to include in my advert?
What are the key things to look for/ask in an interview?
Is there a contract template available online?
What are the absolute essential things to include in a contract?
What are the pitfalls (am a little worried about having someone else living in the house)?
I would need the nanny to be able to drive - should I provide a car? (probably a really dumb question)
What else do I need to consider?
I know there are loads of questions, sorry. But any help you could give would be very much appreciated. TIA
