Anyone Intrested in Babysitting Exchanges?

Hey,

I'm looking for mums who can do babysitting for me and me for them. This will cut down on the expense of paying for babysitters. My child is 18 months and we are living in Haringey, North London.

I'd love to hear from anyone who might be interested. Thanks

I think you're crazy!!!!

There is absolutely no way you should be searching on the internet for someone to look after your child like this.

Would you advertise your ipad, laptop, car, etc. for random strangers to 'babysit'?

Thought not.

I think that's a bit harsh tbh.

Lots of people advertise for nannies/babysitters on the internet. As long as you do a proper background check on whoever you pick it doesn't matter.

Mum I babysit for (Also in Haringay!) tried to do this and it just didn't work!

Have a look on here/Gumtree etc and find a reasonably priced babysitter (I charge £7ph and thats pretty average if a little cheap for London)

you might have more luck attempting to join/set up a babysitting circle. I've tried to set one up via nct group but several of the parents were so precious about never leaving their LOs with anyone ever let alone another parent that I have given up

@ Lougle. Can you actually READ?? I asked for mums that were interested in baby sitting exchanges to make contact with me.

If you are not or are opposed to the idea why didn't you simply not respond?
Instead you choose to verbally attack me and spread negativity. Are you sure you are not the one who is crazy!! Better go and take your medication.

@ Milknosugarplease. I've actually met someone at my little one's nursery who is interested and she lives just off of my road. Actually getting around to doing it is proving another thing though, lol.

A couple of the workers at her nursery also babysit during the week and weekends but to be honest I think I pay out more than enough already on childcare and don't really want to pay any more.

I'd rather not go out and stay with my little one, leave her with family or with someone that I trusted that was interested in doing babysitting exchanges. I think that as mums we have to be as innovative as we can. Thanks for your info though. I will keep my options open.

@ Sleeplessinderbyshire.

I'm sorry that the circle didn't work out but there must be a solution. Maybe the time wasn't right. Maybe they might be open to the idea when their little ones are older or can communicate. I don't think you really need a lot of people. Even if there are just to mums willing to support each other it can work. Good luck. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
