Tidied up and had all paperwork for prospective new parent to see, emailed me 4/5 times last thursday and wasted time emailing her back. Said does 11am suit you? yes great she says and guess what? she didn't bloody show up. i bloody hate this job sometimes!!! why do people do this? i wouldn't have minded at all if she had phoned to cancel. dd missed trip to soft play as well!!

I won't cancel our usual outings for anything like that unless it is really really essential (just in case they come late or not at all). Have you contacted them to find out why they didn't come?

This was the first visit for meeting a new parent so had to stay in.If a mindees parent arrives late then i go out and they phone me on my mobile and meet me wherever we are.Just annoyed that people can be ignorant. I emailed to say i hope nothing awfuls happened and if she needs to make new appointment she can get in touch. What else can i do? Thought about sending her a horrible email saying thanks for not showing up etc but whats the point? I have had a call from someone else (passed on by a friend) who should be coming tonight at 5pm so heres hoping this one turns up.

So you still don't know why they didn't come?!! That's a bit out of order.

Agalch - did the new one turn up tonight?

agalch · 11/01/2006 07:08

Hi Tanyes she turned up with the baby(very very cute) her other daughter her partner and her mother!!! eek standing room only. seems nice but after a couple of people not turning up and one mum saying as family tax were not going to pay anymore than 35% of her fees she could not afford me,i have lost confidence so wait to hear from her (or not). the girl who didn't turn up on monday emailed to say her pc had crashed and my tel number and address was on it? hasn't made another appt so who knows? i'm glad that the mum turned up last night even if she decides not to choose me.

OMG - her mother too! - shame about the other lady though I really hope something turns up for you soon - I have only just recently started to get more work myself, just when I thought my situation was hopeless so can sympathise - it can really cause you to feel despondent can't it but hopefully something is just round the corner for you

Guess what?? I took the bull by the horns(as i believe hellybelly did on another thread) and phoned the mum to ask how she felt the meeting went. She said she really likes me and wants to start on Monday so i am a happy bunny She is coming tomorrow at 5pm to do all the paperwork and forms and stuff. Just when i thought no parents would ever want me again i feel great.Hope she turns up tho.
