Baby sitting costs?

We are about to use a baby sitter for the first time. She is a friends niece and she has done a placement at DS1 preschool so he knows her.

Anyway I have absolutely no idea how much to pay her. She doesn't know either as she usually just baby sits for her family. I have looked at some old threads which suggest 6 - 10 pound but some of the threads were a bit old. We will probably be out 2 -3 hours so thinking 15 to 20 pound?

We are in the South West.

I think £15 is about right for 3 hours. I am presuming she doesn't have to pay for a taxi or anything to get home? I have paid babysitters before and would usually give a standard £20 but that would be for about 4-5 hours. x

I usually pay £20 for up to 4 hours and £30 for longer
