Childminders Contract - does this sound right?

Hi - was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me is this sounds reasonable enough or is my CM taking the p*ss:

Parent or child being off sick: (Full fee)
CM's sickness: (1/2 fee)
Parent's occasional days off: (Full fee)
CM's annual holiday (Full fee): - she takes 6 weeks annual leave.
Parent / CM's holiday coinciding: (Full fee)
Public Holiday: (Full fee)

Does anyone else pay their CM's annual leave? I don't know whether or not I'm making a mountain out of a molehill or not, but I just have the feeling that somethings not quite right with this contract.

Would very much appreciate your thoughts on this.

Thanks

As i said so many shops are not letting me advertise in their windows, there are 400 childminders and probably more registering even though there is hardly any work where I live in Greater Manchester.

I have had two bad experiences where parents have dropped me for no reason at all, the latest I am chasing is a nasty piece of work and gave me a mouthful of abuse right in front of the guy doing our house!!! I was shaking with anger and was very upset - who gives these parents the right to do this? I have done nothing wrong, she has breached her contract which I have scanned and will be typing a nice letter to go with it demanding my money be paid at once.

I seem to end up with the rough, chavvy types who think they can have childcare for bloody free, there doesn't seem to be any nice parents anymore around here.

I am NVQ Level 3 Early Years qualified, am renewing First Aid at the moment and will be renewing Safeguarding Children in a couple of weeks. I have been childminding for 12 years now. FIS is not able to send anyone if they don't get phone calls and I'm on childcare.uk.

Almost all of my recent children have come via websites - try vivastreet, gumtree, mumsnet, netmums local, chilcarenow.co.uk as well as childcare.co.uk. The exceptions have been younger siblings of former mindees, and children of close friends or relatives of current or past mindees. Given the problems you have had with some of yours, you probably wouldn't want to deal with their friends and family!
