Hi, Due to unfortunate circumstances my normal childminding arrangements have been changed. (I have split with my DH and his mum won't mind DD anymore.) I am due back in work on Wednesday and have no other minding arrangements. I live on the Wirral in Merseyside. Could someone please help me.

have you got a local childminding group ypou can get intouch with..or an under 8's unit?

You need to get intouch with The Childrens information Service. They have a website but unfortunatlty I can't do links. (Google CIS and it will come up)

This will give you a list of registered childminders in your area.

Good luck.

You can get details of childminders at:

Childcare Link

If you haven't found anyone to start by Wed then you are legally entitled to take time off work in this situation as your normal childcarer is unexpectedly unavailable. (The Maternity and Parental Leave etc Regulations 1999)

Unfortunately there is no entitlement to pay while you are absent for this reason.

Good luck with your search

Hi, I don't know whereabouts in the Wirral you are but I am a registered childminder in Wallasey if that's any help. I have a couple of vacancies at the moment and would be willing to offer emergency care on a temporary basis until you are able to find something more permanent. You can find my details listed on the childcare link website as Helen & Vinny Hale under childminders in Wallasey if you want to contact me.
