CM's - can you ell me how many children you're allowed to look after at one time?

I've just received a text from our cm saying that she has had an out of the blue inspection today and been told that she's over her numbers and so can no longer have our 2 ds's!

She has been looking after them since the end of August!!

How many children, and of what ages are cm's legally allowed to care for at any one time?

I really don't know what's going on, but I've got 4 potential new cm's to meet over the next few days so things are looking up.

2 of the current cm's other mindees go to the same school as my ds's and I know their parents so I'll be able to find out if any other children are taken on.

She has given us 4 weeks notice, but won't be holding me to paying for it all if we can get the boys settled with someone else sooner than that - even stranger!!

Mogs - we are in SE Wales - Barry to be precise!

Off now to meet the first potential new cm - keep your fingers crossed!

Ah, I'm the other side of Cardiff but just before I read where you live I thought you might have been the mum that phoned me yesterday looking for childcare - how bizarre would that have been?! Grin

Good luck with your hunt for a new cm. The whole situation sounds quite strange.

I'm pleased you, have found some other CM's - I hope you really really love one of them :)
