I want to put something in my policies about children hitting.

I want it to be brought to the parents attention that I won't stand for it. I don't know how to word it

Any ideas??

Mine is included in my policy about managing behaviour. It says something about house rules which children will be "encouraged to follow". This includes fairly light-hearted stuff like taking muddy shoes off at the front door and keeping drinks in the kitchen, but also includes words to the effect of " ... not tolerating bad language or prejudice against others, or physical or verbal aggression towards other children, adults or animals ... "

Just so happens I have just finished rewriting my policies this morning and I have done the same as theprisoner I have made a list of house rules in behaviour policy which includes respect property and each other which covers that imo.
Because I have made inportant changes, I have wrote a letter to parents with a little form for them to sign stating they agree to revised policies.
