hello,

I have a quick question that i hope any childminders out there can help with-we found a childminder at the start of august to have our daughter from the 19th sept, she will have our daughter 23hrs a week mon to fri
we have paid her a retainer fee which was a full weeks pay and am now unsure as to what this atually is as she stated that we do not get this back and it will not be taken as our daughters first week with her, ??>
thanks

Basicaly she cant offer that place to anyone else, so you are paying her a smaller amount to keep your place available until 19th sep.

If for some reason she was looking after another child (in place of your child) who was paying for your childs space that you have retained, then you shouldnt have to pay it.
Also when paying a retainer you should be allowed to send your child (so long as you make it up to the normal rate)
