Quick poll - how much do you pay your babysitter????

OUr fabulous regular babysitter has just put her rates up quite considerably. I wanted to do a quick poll to find out how much other people pay. Can you let me know whether the babysitter is a student or nursery staff, whether you are in London or not and what their hourly rate is before and after midnight,

OMG I can't believe someone asked you to put 50p in a jar for a hot drink. That's beyond the pale.

It has been really interesting seeing the huge range of prices that babysitters charge. Thanks everyone for contributing.

I have had families that buy in a meal for me, although most just say help yourself to a drink.

well I had more hot drinks than usual that night and did not put any money in jar. Would not mind but the house was massive. I have had lovely ones that I have left me out meals before. Thing is if they are nice people I always round my charges down not up.
