I have had no less than 5 (yes five) enquiries this week and I'm starting to have to make choices. I don't like making choices - you spend the rest of the time saying "if only"....

But a few weeks ago I was really worried, that I would have no children in January

Good that you're getting the enquiries Katymac. I've had to loose 3 mindees in the last few weeks and really need to fill my remaining vacancy! I know it's early days yet but I'm worried that not as many people are looking for childcare at this time of year - too busy thinking about Christmas.

Sounds like that's not the case for you so fingers crossed for some luck soon! (£600 down a month now )

Out of interest, where have your enquiries come from? Your website? CIS? Other advertising?

I'm just researching new online free advertising places at the moment - will update you all if I find new ones to add to the other list we did recently!

Good luck with your choices - I know that's hard as I turned some down recently and now wished I hadn't

katymac · 23/11/2005 09:27

One from netwroking with a Nursery
Two from the Children's Centre (so make a contact with yours)
One from CIS (came to visit 8 weeks ago and is now ready to do something)
One from School

So none from advertising

Sorry if I'm being thick - childrens centre???

katymac · 23/11/2005 09:43

The local Childrens Centre - It's a joined up child care and information point - it's the governments flagship "idea" of the moment

HellyBelly · 23/11/2005 09:59

What's the difference between that and CIS?

katymac · 23/11/2005 10:09

Completely different

Should be HV, SALT, Physio, ED Psy etc plus nursery plus creche, plus link to networked C/Mers (and some other stuff I have forgotten)

I'm completely lost but will look into it. I suppose it's because I'm still new to all this.

Thanks for the info though!

Thanks! Just bought a new scanner from ebay (real bargain) and am going to add my current mindees reference (blocked out address etc) to it. I've got another really good reference from old mindees mum but I think that would be wrong to add that too

Anyway, well done again, hope they all work out for you!

jellyjelly · 25/11/2005 10:37

I hope i get some of your good luck, i have just given notice to one of mine.

LoveMyGirls · 28/11/2005 09:29

Helly why would it be wrong to add the old reference? if it still applies which im sure it does.

HellyBelly · 28/11/2005 09:33

Not sure if you followed my threads before but basically, I had to give notice because of awful behaviour (would have lost other mindee otherwise) and she decided not to come back, probably embarrassed??? Anyway, wasn't sure if I should use it due to the circumstances?

jellyjelly · 28/11/2005 10:19

use it

HellyBelly · 28/11/2005 10:59

You really think so? I suppose I'm worried in case they see it and go mad (although I never changed my service so the reference is fair).

Actually Jelly, as you have no email I'll ask you here - you still want to go out this weekend? Don't think I'm babysitting anymore!

jellyjelly · 28/11/2005 12:36

Yes i do think so, you didnt do anything wrong, they deceided not to come back which was nothing to do with you and you couldnt do anything about it.

Not sure about w/end will check with dp as not sure if he had anything planned and will text you later.

HellyBelly · 28/11/2005 12:49

ok, just let me know. tbh, i don't mind if we leave til new year as (as you know), car is very poorly and may need several hundred pounds spending (with diesel specialist now ) so could do with saving the pennies (at least til I fill my vacancy!)

jellyjelly · 28/11/2005 14:15

ok lets leave it then, know the feeling just paid loads for my car and of course losing a mindee.

HellyBelly · 28/11/2005 14:46

We'll sort in new year when both better off.
