hehe, glad you found it!!

Right....having now found the book I am having a mental block

Feel really silly but anyway.......

*A new childminder should have information about the following aspects of childminding.

  1. Keeping children safe
  2. Establishing routines for the childminding day
  3. Providing basic play and other activities for children in a home-based setting
  4. Helping children to settle in your childminding setting
  5. Managing childrens behaviour
  6. Treating children with equal concern
  7. Initiating relationships with parents
  8. Child protection
  9. Starting a Childminding business

For each aspect write a short statement to explain why you will need to have this information when you become a childminder*

What is it actually asking me to write?

I need to keep children safe because......

This is how I intend to keep children safe......

I did mine last November and we got told to start ours with

"I need this information because ..........."

e.g. OFSTED requiremnent, National Standard, looking after other peoples children etc

You need to state why you need to do these things and then in the second task expand on how you will do it

Does that make sense?? I hope so I'm not very good at explaining things

peckarollover · 09/11/2005 19:53

Im looking at it too simplistically I think

for example

Why do I need the info on keeping children safe

errrrrrrr because its preferably to them getting injured or ill

Thats what you've got to do don't get to deep

peckarollover · 09/11/2005 20:12

Why am I finding it so hard? its not rocket science

bonkerz · 09/11/2005 21:00

just sent it to you

peckarollover · 09/11/2005 23:00

ok....Im almost finished.

I chose the implementing a routine bit to expand on for task two.

Im not sure I have mentioned enough about equal concern though.

Anyone have ideas on the kind of things I can put about treating all children with equal concern when implementing a routine for the childminding day?

did you get it in on time? i cant believe how long it takes to get a cerificate for it, i did mine in may and im still waiting, i rang up the other day and said hopefully i will get it soon just got to send off my application form now - im so scared and not sure what order i should be doing everything in, maybe ill start a thread to see if anyone can help.

good luck with yours, when do you plan to be registered and up and running by?

lunavix · 18/11/2005 16:56

They gave me a certificate the day I finished the course, but not my assignment back or marks or anything. I rang them 6 months later and apparently the second markers had decided the college should be assessed and inspected and I'd have to attend a 2 hour subsequent course and do another assignment!

I've just left it at the one certificate!

LoveMyGirls · 18/11/2005 17:16

they gave me an attendance cert. but mine looks rubbish cause i missed the first session as i thought the course started on a wednesday not a tuesday so ive got a cross by that one
