Nanny Agency help?

I had an interview with an agency for a job a week ago. They said they'd get back to me the next day and got straight onto the phone to my old boss as soon as I left (quite literally just stepped out the door when she called my old Mumboss!) but I haven't heard anything back from the agency? She spent a lot of time in the interview telling me that I'd be perfect for this job and was so lovely so I'm debating calling/emailing and asking if the position is going to be followed up with an interview or just waiting to see if she gets back to me? WWYD? Am I being too impatient what with it just having been the bank holiday?

This is the only position with which I've had feedback and been offered even an interview. There's another agency who've been brilliant too but they're having trouble with the families who I've inquired about. I've noticed that another, much larger and nationwide nanny agency is offering these jobs as well but I've always been told bad things about them and am reluctant to go through them if these smaller agencies are having trouble getting the clients to agree to their terms iyswim?

Some agencies look at job adverts by other agencies and try to put their candidates forward for them in desparation for a fee. The 'trouble with the families', the job being advertised by another agency and the delay all look suspicious to me.

I'd definately call and ask what the progress is, and tell them you have seen the job advertised by XYZ agency and wondered what was going on? If they don't give you a straight answer you will know where you stand.

They got hold of me shortly after writing this and have arranged an interview for me tomorrow :)

I did think the multiple agencies posting the same ad with the same lettering was a bit odd though! From what I've noticed the large agencies tend to have them after the smaller ones. But there have been a few the other way round.
I just don't get the point of it though, surely they can't get any details from the original agency about the family so therefore posting it seemsa bit silly?!

How did it go?

confuseddotcodotuk · 05/05/2011 10:43

I think it went okay! But I still haven't had a call telling me whether I got the job :( 'll find out in due time though I suppose! Though, any nanny would be lucky to work with this family though as they are lovely!

Well done, my fingers are crossed for you!

I won't find out until Monday now! They liked me but want to interview other nannies first apparently Hmm That makes me worried as I'm not qualified, I'm young and I haven't done this age group before so pretty much any other nanny would be better. Shit lol Job hunt continues Grin

Well....?

confuseddotcodotuk · 12/05/2011 17:39

sorry, it disappeared from my threads I'm on! I had my second interview yesterday, it was lovely, just one other nanny who they are looking at but they can't see her until the 21st! So I have to wait until the 22nd before I find out! My patience is that of a child's sometimes Grin Keeping my fingers crossed though, it seems to be a lovely job with a nice family :)
