Summer Activities

Hi everyone, just wondered if any one had any activities, arts and crafts, gardening etc that I could do with my 3 year old and 18 month old charges to fill an odd hour here and there or when the youngest is having his naps.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Summer activities in the garden include

  • Bowl of water plus water toys
  • Body painting
  • Icecubes in the sensory bowl (other ideas, cooked spag, gloop, soil)
  • Bear hunt - either follow the storyy or hide a bear in the garden and see if you can find it
  • Chalks
  • A pot of water and a paintbrush to paint the fence/house
  • Car wash - water and cloth and clean the outside cars

Those are really good ideas! Will try some of those here with DS & DD.

We also have a painting easel (one of those ones that stands up like an A frame) and do lots of painting outside.

Plus,
Ride on toys
Football - or just running after a ball
Making a play house in a large cardboard box on the lawn (current favourite - has kept them busy for 2 days so far!)

The 3 year old might like gardening a few things in pots (radishes and cress are favourites here ... radishes outside, cress in the kitchen), plus lots of fun to be had watering things. The radishes are of course named after the "Wee McGregors" on Mr Blooms nursery, making them extra special.
