aaargh have first mindee age 13m did 3-4 sessions with her and all was well managed to distract her etc when parents left -and we have had a great time- now its for real and she is screaming before she gets through the door and doesn't stop for ages and ages... have tried various forms of distraction - but basically only thing thats stopped her last couple of times is that shes fallen asleep...

I know in my head its because the penny has dropped that she is being left but I still feel upset - don't lilke to see upset babies Sad

any advice welcome ... thanks

yes normal

it takes time, some children take longer than others to settle even if you have done loads of settling-in beforehand (I have recently done about 14 hours settling in over a 4 week period and the baby still was very distressed on day one, just as your experience)

be patient, and bonding will come, I promise

I usually say that when the child sleeps, eats and smiles at me all in the same day then I'm in Smile
