I childmind 5 children. 4 of which are under 8. After the easter hols I am taking on somone who will be 10.

Do you have the same contract for your over 8's as your 8 and unders? for example non attendance or sick is everything the same as the under eights, Just asking at they are not counted by Ofsted.

What do you differently or anything?

Thanks

All of my mindees are still under 8 (one turns 8 this year) but when they are over 8, I'll not change, all my contract terms will remain the same.

Hi Mum2Bless
When I took on 2 over 8 children after school,I had parents complete all the same paperwork in terms of permissions, contract etc. The only differance was instead of using my usual information sheet for childs needs/routines etc, I asked the child to complete a form with their parents about their likes/dislikes, what they liked to be called, what their usual routine after school was etc. This went down very well with both parents and the children and later on, Mrs Ofsted when I had my inspection (although that was the sum total of her intrest in my over 8s Hmm )

Oh yes, I'll do that with older ones who start with me, my mindee coming up for 8 started with me when she was 3 and so I know her well enough not to need a new form Wink. Another good thing for older kiddies is drawing up a 'rules' type thing together, I believe this goes down well too (can you tell most of mine have started when they were quite little!)
