i'd say yes 2 hours is enough, i think when i had mine the inspector was here for 1 hour, but it does depend on how thorough they are.

Why not ring OFSTEd and ask - that way at least she will know you have to go out.....and if it takes longer you could rearrange

Mine took just over 2 hours cos once she had looked around typed up part of her report and then asked me lots of questions and she then typed the answers to those into her laptop as well. She was very chatty though.

If you are absolutely certain that you have absolutely every piece of paperwork you might need (might have to produce birth/marriage certificate, vehicle insurance/MOT documents, policies???), then it should be enough time ... if not, then I wouldn't be sure!

Hope it goes well. Ours is due soon (we're nursery owners.) As ThePrisoner says, make sure your policies (if applicable) are up to date and any other paperwork.

It took about 6 weeks for mine to go through but there were problems with my CRB. (Inspector got my D.O.B wrong and I had to prove when I was actually born)

You should get a letter explaining what to do next soon, (I got mine 2 days later) did she say you needed to do anything? then just make sure you've got a cheque ready when the invoice comes

I was recommended 4 children verbally at the inspection and this included my ds. Got confused when the certificate arrived as it said 3 but I checked and the certificates take into account your own children so you need to inform them when they reach age 5, 8 etc!

My registration process took 12 weeks in total which is their deadline here. Seemed like forever but I had my inspection as soon as they got my application. If you sent this weeks ago and have just got your inspection now, you shouldn't have as long to wait.

I had my inspection back in July and am still waiting for my CRB's to be completed!

I've chased and chased but am just told that they are in the final stages with the police

BTW My inspection visit took 4 hours even though I ended up with no actions - they are obviously v. thorough in this part of the world!
