That's the sound of me finding out that my last realistic hope of finding a childminder has gone up in smoke.

It's almost enough to make me want to register as one [mind boggles]

Is it that bad? I have a dinky 2 bed house, dogs, and an upstairs loo. Oh and I don't much like kids.

Why your last realistic hope?!

Where is you stay, I wish I lived somewhere that was crying out for Childminders, theres way too many of us where I stay.

NickNacks · 01/03/2011 16:57

Where do you live? Maybe someone on here can help.

I'm in Scotland. It's a wee town. Most of them are full/can't manage an under-one/there's one I've used before and won't use again/are further than walking distance so will mean I have to buy another car and I haven't got the cash to do that.

How do you work that then kelly? I can't imagine having more than the two kids I've already got crammed in here!

Hi Im in Scotland too in sunny Livingston.
Im registered for 6 under 12 and another 2 under 16 and until recently 4 of them were under 5 ( and I wonder why Ive got grey hair). So the most I ever would have is my own three plus another 5 but its dead just now so Ive only got one after schooler.

I find that by the time you do school runs, stop at the park , go toddler group, have lunch, do some nursery runs etc, that we arent in teh house very often. Oh and when the weathers rotten we meet up at other childminders houses.
I do only have one settee in the Living room with a pile of bean bags, a tv and some toys, the rest kept under the stairs so Ive got as much space as possible.
The hardest part is having the bathroom upstairs but travel cots/ stair gates and brilliant bladder control all help.
It all works out, I dont know how but it just does. It sounds like registering is maybe something you could think about.
