Government Funding

I've just realised I am entitled to the government funding for my 3 year old at my childminder, I thought this funding was for education centres only, but because my minder follows the Early Years Foundation we are entitled. We already receive 5 hours with a pre-school, my childminder needs to be made aware and claim, but does any one know if this can be back dated at all to January or how long it takes to process? We're in the Herts authority. thanks

Your childminder will need to be on a Network, have a level 3 and be Accredited to be able to take funded children. All childcare providers (childminders, pre-schools and nurseries)follow the EYFS but not every childminder can provide funded places- unfair but true.
