Asking for a reference from CM

I am in the process of sorting out childcare for DS (will be 8 months when I go back to work). I'd prefer a CM as I am more comfortable for him to be in a smaller environment. Anyway,I have found it difficult to find a CM (for May) but eventually found one I am pretty happy with.
I was wondering whether it would acceptable/suitable/ok to ask her for a reference from her previous or current clients. Is this the done thing?
Her OFSTED grading is good but I'd prefer "real" testimonials, but obviously I don't want to upset her.
Any thoughts?

Im a minder and I ask for references from all my parents when their little one finishes. And provide them to all potential parents. Also current parents have said they would be happy to chat and answer questions to any future parents. I would think it reasonable for you to ask.

yes ask her to put you in contact with a current family, or she may have letters in her file for this purpose

She won't mind at ALL
