As a childminder do you need a fire blanket as well as an extinguisher. If so what type of extinguisher? Does the blanket need to be a certain size?

I have a fire blanket in the kitchen (standard size). No extinguisher.

BALD · 26/01/2011 22:06

my fire blanket (standard size) came with my toolkit from NCMA and is wallmounted

no extinguisher

NCMA blanket (two actually)

No extinguisher; Fire Brigade chappie said, get out & stay out. More people are hurt by having a go with a fire extinguisher than are saved by someone with one

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will go for just blanket.
