Whistleblowing

I've namechanged for this because I'd like to keep my mumsnet anoniminity.

This weekend I'll be delivering a presentation on Whistleblowing for an NCMA regional forum.

What I'd like to know is...

Have you ever Whistleblown on another childminder or other professional?

And have you ever opted not to report someone you know you should have and why?

Many thanks in advance.

I have 28 years experience as a nanny, mother and now childminder. I have seen so many appalling nannies and CM's but agree that it's hard to get anything done.

I was incredibly careful about who I left my own children with, even in the church creche! The only toddler group I went to was the one I ran.

It's sad that it is so difficult to prove that someone is a bad nanny/CM. There is a CM locally who has been reported several times but she's still working. As another poster said, I wouldn't leave a goldfish with her.

Having said that, I would still report someone in the hope that something might be done about them.
