Childminder question

Is it normal to pay a childminder for the hours a child is at school nursery? So my little girl will be going to school nursery 5 mornings a week, 9am to 1pm and we'll need a childminder to do the drop off, pick ups and have her in the afternoon. We've been advised we'll have to still pay the childminder for the hours she'll be at school. Is this normal?

Any help very welcome!

Thanks

Yep, very very normal. I also assume you'd still need care in the school holidays?
