Hi Just purchase a heater. Will be using it for childminding as well as for personal use.

Can I claim half as an expense?

I thought you could only claim the whole amount of a purchase? I'm sure I saw someone had been told by their accountant that if it was used once for CMing purposes then to put the whole cost down as a business expense.

And definitely claim it - think of the poor cold children otherwise. :)

I will use it during the day to keep the room lovely and cosy. Its electric so no fumes etc.
