Whats the diff between mothers help and au pair?

The main differences are that an au pair generally lives with you and works just a few hours a day. An au pair plus lives with you and works slightly longer hours, but not quite 'full-time' (or enough to enable you to work full-time with the travel time added in).

A mother's help tends to work for much longer hours (45ish).

There are lots of smaller differences, of course. One thing that isn't often mentioned is that au pairs are usually only with you for a few months (even if it starts off being a longer placement).
