Hi

I'm looking for a nanny to work 5 days a week in Beaconsfielf for my two children.

My husband & myself have always worked alternate contracts so one of us has always been at home but for the first time in 2.5yrs we're both going back to work. I'm dreading someone taking over caring for our children during the week- can anyone offer me advice on how best to prepare my kids (2.5yrs & 7months old).

Also can anyone reccomend an agecy or site as to where to place an ad for a nanny?

if you dont want to pay an agency fee of thousands then www.nannyjob.co.uk and gumtree.com and www.netmum.co.uk are all good sites to advertise

make your ad clear and you must include the basics of days/hours/ages of children and duties/if there is a car (an added bonus) and state a gross wage of xxx depending on age/experience etc

Also Childcare.co.uk which will enable you to search by distance, which is helpful when looking for a live-out nanny. However you will need to pay on the site for Gold membership, so that you can contact nannies listing themselves - as they may not have paid memberships themselves.

Agency wise, as a nanny I've found <a class="break-all" href="//www.lollipopchildcare.co.uk" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Lollipop Childcare to be good. They cover Berks and Bucks. Costs for using an agency can be 3x - 6x nannies weekly salary... ask about fees, so you don't get a shock later on.

I've signed up to childcare, now I'll try Lollipop.

Thank you
