I'm a cm with my DH we started as nannys to a family of 6 years, 5 years, and 14 month old until our registration came through.

They had to change their hours from full time to part time. This ment that our finances weren't too good. My DH was considering getting a evening job or something to make ends meet.

That was until we got a phone call in reponse to our advert on childcare.co.uk on Monday (I had left him a message on there about calling us and giving us a try - no obligation). He asked if he and his wife and 9 month old could come around for a interview with us that evening. Of course we said yes.

They came around with their child and they said that we had thought of everything! They liked us but we advised they would go home and look at everything before getting back to us. They said if they did want us could we have the settling in period straight away? We have the 'luxuary' to say yes we could. Their hours even though 5 hours for 4 days are not at the same time. So that is why they have being having problem to get a cm. They live just around the corner.

Well they phoned the next day and asked when they could come around for the settling in and to sign the paperwork :)

The baby has had 1 hour with us so far and it has been a dream. No crying and even some laughs! She comes back today for her second day of settling in for 2 hours.

The only problem we have now is trying to get the older mindee to share as he has been used to having all the toys to himself. but I'm sure that won't be too much of a problem. Besides it will be good for him too. The overlap sometimes but mostly they are different hours anyway.
