Yes, you will have to show how you will cope, ie 2 baby car seats, high chairs, sleeping facilities, transport etc.

Yes. You'd need a variation. You need to evidence how you'll manage the care of two infants (equipment, etc) Once you've got it for 2 under one's Ofsted will (normally) let you keep it on your cert, giving you a lot more flexibility in the future.

I have only been registered since march 2010, what do you think the chances of Ofsted giving me one?

You need to show you've thought through how you'll meet their needs very thoroughly. You just have to convince the inspector that you can manage the situation well.

Write down how you'll manage feeds and sleep times, what the impact would be on other children in your care and how you would manage that, etc.

I think there is a form on-line for applying for a variation

boppetybop · 23/09/2010 09:12

thank you all for your replies but it turns out that when the parent wants me to have them, they will be over 12 months.

Oh that makes life easier then Smile

i have NEVER understood why a cm has to ask to have 2 under 1 yet a nanny can have 3 under 1 or even 4 if quads Grin

how come a cm can generally only have 3 under 5, without asking for extra permission which also may not be granted yet a nanny could have 6/7 children depending on terms of her insurance

boppetybop · 23/09/2010 17:40

yes exactly blondes

Al1son yes it does I am relieved I don't need to apply for a variation
