Childminder numbers?!

I text my cm earlier as dd has just started school, to say don't worry if she falls asleep on the sofa, and she replied that she will have 9 after school so it's unlikely!! 9??!!

I'm slightly concerned about the number of children tbh. I know the limit is 6, I was at a pre-registration child minder briefing course last night. Even if 3 of them are over 8 (and I'm struggling to think of 3 tbh) I still think 9 kids in her house is far too many. The isn't large by any stretch.

Am I being unreasonable?? What do you think I should do? Dd has been with this cm since she was tiny, and I've had any problems, but this does concern me.

all depends on how many are over 8

my insurance covers me for up to 12 including my 6 under 8s

over 8s don't count in her numbers

You can check her registration to see how many she is registered for and you can ask about the ages of the children, to check that 3 were over 8. If she is very organised, this won't be a problem for her.

I had 8 here this morning, (most are siblings) 3 over 8, the rest a mixture. I put three on the bus to the local school, drove one to a private school, dropped 2 at the nursery attached to the private school, came back with 1. 2 more then arrived for the day. 2 then left before the after schoolies arrived off the bus, I then picked up 2 more from nursery, fed 5 dinner (2 have special diet due to allergies), 2 went home for dinner. I never went over my numbers, I have never once had to raise my voice, everyone is soooo good we have such a lovely time together doing lots of different things, I am always ultra organised.

If your childminder knows the children well and is good at her job there shouldn't be a problem.
