Well I need to prepare myself for next week. Contracts were signed today for 12 hour days 5 days a week, think I need to get the coffee machine out of the cupboard lol

al1son He is 16 months and Yeah I will get money out of it but won't alot go on tax I have to pay? I'm new to minding so don't know about the tax side of things yet.

You need to find out about all the things you can claim against tax as a childminder. Your local Early Years team should run a course which talks you through all the allowances and it helps if you do a weekly account showing all your expenses so you don't have a mammoth job at the end of the year.

You can claim a %age of you household bills, council tax, food bills if you provide meals, etc. It makes a very big difference.

Wow, I do a 50hr week at the moment and that is wearing me out - think you will need Red Bull, not coffee!!!! Grin

boppety is he your only mindee ? If so you shouldnt pay tax, if you claim for everything you can search on here somewhere there is a hUGE list we put together one year of everything we could think of to claim Grin

shoshe yes he will be my only mindee as the ones I have now are leaving Friday. Thanks for the list that really helps but are the %ages weekly? coz thats seems quiet alot
