Need ideas for child care

Hi all
I am having a total nightmare with child care.
I have ds starting school in a couple of weeks (with breakfast and after school clubs twice a week) and dd goes to nursey.

My job means that i leave the house at 7am and dont return untill 8pm, although i only work 2 days a week. I am on my own with the children so my sister has been taking them the nursery and picking them up although she has now said she would rather not do as she has a little boy and says its too hard with all three.

Would love some ideas as i love my job and dd loves nursery so would rather not have to take her out,

You need a childminder. Or an au pair.

thought about that, but its only an hour or so in a morning and 2 1/2 in the eve, didnt think i would be able to for short periods

They can be very flexible, but you may have to ask a few in order to find one that can accomodate your hours.

some nursery nurses do extra hours like that
ask at the nursery

Childminders can be very flexible if they have space. I've collected children from day nursery before when parents work long hours. You'll just need to ask around as all are different.

Or you could possibly consider Childcare students. They're CRB checked by the college and i believe they have to undertake paeditric first aid before colleges send them out on placement. You could contact your local college or look on Childcare dot co dot uk as some advertise themselves under the babysitting or nanny categories.

look at childcare students, au pairs wanting a few extra hours or a nanny with her own child wanting a few extra hours
also ask at the nursery if any of the nursery nurses there want a few extra hours
