I want to put dd into some kind of local childcare. There is a kids club at the local school in the holidays and it runs after school too. I think this would be great as it will familarise her with the school that she starts next September but Im worried that because she be with older children of about 5,6,7, she wont be able to interact with them aswell she will children of her own age. I live in a remote village and am unable to drive at the moment so this is really my only option. Am I being a neurotic mother?!

Some children actually get on better with children who are older than they are. So you won't really know until you give it a try.

I agree. My mindees range from 4 to 8 and age really isn't an issue. The 4 yr old starts school in a few weeks and is completely unphased about the transition as she already has so many friends there. Plus friendship with older children challenges younger children and encourages their development.
