Hey - well done!!! Hope you enjoy your new career. Have you got any children lined up already?

FeelingOld · 24/08/2005 19:30

Well done and wish you lots of luck.

Congratulations! It's all downhill from now then! Welcome to the world of Not Having a Grown-Up Job!

I feel completely unprepared to start looking after mindees - is that normal!? It feels a bit daunting starting to advertise.

Probably because my ICP doesnt start until September

Seriously welldone peckarollover, I think it is normal to be apprehensive about looking after mindees, but you soon get used to it.

HellyBelly · 24/08/2005 22:38

WELL DONE!! You'll be fine! x

FeelingOld · 24/08/2005 22:57

You will be fine, I find prospective parents coming round and asking parents for money far more daunting than looking after my mindees as they are all fab kids.

HellyBelly · 24/08/2005 23:00

I agree, I have probs with ds but the mindees behave much better - kids are always worse for their own parents!

ThePrisoner · 24/08/2005 23:18

It can be a bit scary to suddenly realise that other parents have actually entrusted you with their children, and you can have days where you can suddenly feel SO responsible, and wonder how those parents can be so irresponsible!!!

I think it's important to have other minders as friends, including us lot here, because it can be a bit isolating without that support at times.
