I will need some childcare from September for an 8 yr old who doesn't attend school due to chronic fatigue syndrome (m.e.). She is not so unwell that she needs nursing/ carer type care, but she needs someone to look after her whilst I am working. She has a very regulated pacing of activity ( mostly inactivity) and can't go out very much, so it's not really a nanny job I think. She will need to be looked after at home, and in the afternoons her sister will need to be picked up from school and looked after as well. The person looking after her will have quite a lot of "down" time as she rests a bit through the day, and she doesn't need someone to do things with her all the time. I don't know if it's more than a "mother's help" type role, or what kind of person might be interested in the job. Thoughts from those of you who are child carers please? Thank you.

Forgot to say - only 1.5 days per week.

Maybe advertise for a nanny/companion and just explain the role in the advert?

Thanks - companion is a good word. I'll see how I get on.
