Hello all, hope someone can help me. I am going to ask my 15 year old neighbour to help me out during the school hols, have 2DDs 5 and 3 and a 4 month old ds. She knows the children well, and my expectation is that she will be another pair of hands and I will always be in the house. So, not actual babysitting as such, so what should I pay her. I will also be taking her with me on days out etc.

Anyone done anything similar and what did you pay?

Thanks

I would have thought £10 for a day?

NMW doesn't apply until 16 so there isn't one for her age to give any guidance. At 16 she'd be entitled to £3.57 per hour so that might be worth bearing in mind. I wouldn't do an hourly rate but maybe £25 for a full day and £10 per morning or afternoon?

There are some restrictions you might need to be aware of - she can only work for 8 hours a day for example. Obviously you're not going to take the mick and she's helping out but it's not worth putting yourself in a vulnerable position.
