Experienced nanny wanted

We live in Mile End and are seeking a nanny for our 9mth old baby girl starting in September with a trial period over the Summer. We need 1.5 days a week.
We would expect the nanny to take our daughter to play groups, for walks, and ensure she is eating healthily.
We would hope for someone with a genuine interest in children, to be fun, trustworthy and responsible and who has experience of babies of this age and excellent checkable references.

Any ideas? Would be very grateful

Is the 1.5 days for the trial, or do you want a nanny for 1.5 days per week in September?

Hi, we also live in Mile End and hopefully have found ourselves a nanny - but it was tricky to find someone part-time (we wanted someone for 2 days). Our son is 2 - if your daughter was older I'd suggest we nannyshared but I think they will have very different needs! We advertised on Gumtree and got about 10 responses.

thanks for the replies. And shame re. the nanny share- yes if they were closer in age we could consider. I'll have a look at gumtree though.

Re. Strix- the 1.5 days a week is from Sept with just the occassional days over summer to get to know eachother.

I am available on Mondays but couldn't do any other 1/2 days in the week, is that of interest to you? If so, my e-mail is nanny. sarah @ live. co . uk (delete spaces as appropriate)

tbh i think you will find it hard to find a nanny for 1.5 days, you may need to consider at least 2 or paying for 2 and then having few hours to yourself/do food shopping etc

Maybe you could team up with another Mum from any groups that you know, and come up with more hours? Or advertise on Gumtree for another FAMILY interested in a share then advertise the position together?

TBH it is a pain working for several different employers but if you were able to find someone who was also looking for a couple of days a week, it'd mean the Nanny was employed for 3 or 4 instead of just 1.5 and that's much more appealing to someone trying to survive in London. You'd be doing the legwork of finding a complementary job for them and might find you get more responses.

However, you'd have to think about things like holidays - you'd all have to agree between you which weeks you were going to take.

Hi do you need a 1 full day and a half day, or total of 1.5 days? i.e 3 mornings?

Minnieq · 22/07/2010 16:34

Thanks Starberries but yes we do need someone for the other half day.
MilkNoSugarPlease- we're looking for 1 full day and one half day.
