Right so I have my first Ofsted Inspection sometime this week so far I have my handbook written complete with policies, observations written with photos and linked to EYFS, risk assessments completed, contracts completed and child records, attendance book, visitors book.
Am I ready then, have I missed anything vital that I really need??

you must have on display:

registration cert, most recent ofsted poster with the new number on it

First Aid cert

Floor plan with evacuation routes clearly marked

you could have on display or in a file:

any certs you have achieved like food safety

house rules

local safeguarding procedure

copy of car insurance showing business use

public liability cert

Have you done a fire drill and logged it?

Have you been checking the smoke alarms weekly and logging it?

Have you been able to make a start on your SEF?

Make sure that you ask for ID before admitting the inspector

I found that I had not planned lunch properly. I underestimated how much time it would take to be interviewed and interrupted etc. I suggest making something that you can either just pop into the oven for the children for lunch, or have ready whatever you would normally give them.
