just thought this would be fun!!!!

my sil had a 11lb 10oz ds.

He made my 8lb 4oz ds born 6 weeks later look teeny weeny.

Just the usual, few breathing problems(though off the ventilator the day after!) He is now prone to chest infections and croup but that could be any kid!

Glad he is ok now.

ds was 10lbs when born (now weighs 23lbs and is not quite 7 months - he's already in 12-18mth clothes!!!)

mine sounds like the smallest atm mine was 9lb 1oz at birth, now is 9 mths old and is 25lb (ish)

chicagomum, my ds3 is 22 months and weigh about the same as your 7 month old!

she tried for ages and then had an emergency setion.

baba been in 12-18 months old clothes since she was 8 months old and her feet been in 12-18 months old shoes since she was 8 months too

ds isn't paricularly chunky just big - over the 100th percentile in length weight and head circumference

chicagomum - that's interesting - my friend's baby is 9 weeks old. She was born at over 10lb (can't remember exact weight) and today she's been weighed and is off the chart. Friend was rather upset and tearful today about it.

why is she upset about it ? is there a medical problem or is the baby just big? the only "problem" with mine was that his head was so damn big he got stuck on delivery and was born by ventouse and i tore badly (was prepped for an emrg c section)

the centile charts are somewhat out of date anyway!!!

My neice was 2lb 13oz at birth (9 weeks early). Dropped to 2lb 1oz within the first week. Doing fine now at 15 mths old and 17lb.

My ds4 was only 9lb 1oz when born 2 weeks early but is now a whopping 25lb at 7mths old.

only 9lb 1oz!!!! what do you mean only?!

Well, he was induced early because it was predicted that he would be 11lb at 40/41 weeks which I would not have coped with naturally.

2 of my other ds's were 9lb 4oz and 9lb 14oz, so 9lb 1oz was nothing in comparison!!!

DT2 2lb 12.5 oz

Born at 27 weeks + 5 days

They are not the smallest here though

DS (born May '04) was bang on date and 11lb 5oz.
Funnily I didn't have gestational diabetes with him, but did with DD who weighed in at 8lb 10oz.
He's now 33lb at 14months and has just started walking. Hallelujah!

think mabs with 2.8 is the smallest so far..correct me if I am wrong!!!!
